Instagram is really now quite horrific for rewarding good content; it basically doesn’t. The platform is changing so fast which is why building a fresh space here is so important, I think so anyway. I thought of you and I reading this Amanda! I used to create content full time, travel and write, and I loved it. However I now work in the NHS and find it hugely rewarding, but I totally get the fomo when you see others get the brand partnerships and trips. I love your content, Dan and totally appreciate your honesty. Congratulations on your new job. I hope you love it 🤍🤍
Thanks Amanda, really appreciate it! It's been a great six months in so many ways and I'm so happy I decided to do it for myself. Glad it was the summer too; sitting on my own in a darkened, cold flat over the Winter months might well have been a very different experience! No Taylor for starters...

Congratulations on making it to six months, not just for the achievements but for the clarity it seems to have given. There aren’t many of us brave enough to try what you’ve done. I’ve enjoyed following along and appreciate how far you pushed yourself out of your comfort zone. Success is measured in many different ways, sounds to me like the past six months might not have been what you expected or in some ways hoped for, but possibly ended up being just what they needed to be. Yours is one of the few accounts I actually follow and I’m struggling to understand how it is not bigger than it is. You produce great content without feeling like I’m constantly being sold to. You are honest and upfront about the work you do whilst so many others hide it with white on white or so tiny you can’t read it - a real bug of mine!
Such a shame this couldn’t have become a full time gig for you but like you say at least you get to have actual conversations again!
Please don’t go anywhere and keep up with the great content I hope the companies open their eyes to using the accounts they should be using and the ones where we actually want to see more content.
I only discovered you recently but i appreciate your honesty on your instagram account and these insights. Having to bear yourself to the wild wild west of the web is incredible brave and i think you have been very wise about holding somethings back for yourself.
